Access to records containing personal information
 

Clients of K Liu Accounting Services Inc. have a right of access to their own personal information in a record that is in our custody or under our control, subject to exceptions described in Section 9 of PIPEDA. Organizations are authorized under the Act to refuse access to personal information if disclosure would reveal confidential business information. We will respond to your request within 30 calendar days, unless an extension is granted. Time limit extensions will only be relied upon in cases where responding within the original 30 days would unreasonably interfere with the normal course of business, or when additional time is needed to conduct consultations or to convert personal information to an alternative format. The Client has the right to complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada in the case where response is not received.

 

We may charge a reasonable fee to provide information, but not to make a correction. We will advise you of any fees that may apply before beginning to process your request.
